From April 9 to April 10, Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision and Administration held a provincial Conference on certification, accreditation, inspection and testing in Guangzhou. The conference conveys the spirit of the National Conference on Certification, Accreditation, Inspection and Testing, summarizes the provincial certification and testing work in 2018, and deploys the key work in 2019. Comrade Qiu Ruiqing, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the provincial bureau, attended the meeting and made a report on his work. Five participants, including Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Shenzhen and Qingyuan Market Supervision Bureau, Guangzhou Branch of China Quality Certification Center and Fangyuan Logo Certification Group Guangdong Co., Ltd., made an exchange of experiences.

The conference fully affirmed the achievements of provincial certification, accreditation, inspection and testing in recent years. By the end of 2018, there were 172 certification bodies (including branches) in the province, and a total of 101,000 enterprises (organizations) in the province had obtained 360,07,000 certificates. The number of certificates of product certification and system certification accounted for 25.1% and 14.5% of the country respectively, ranking first in the country. A total of 2760 inspection and testing institutions in the province have been certified as qualified. The number of certified institutions has increased by 11% compared with last year. In 2018, the inspection and testing industry issued 46.615 million reports, generating 35.095 billion yuan in revenue, an annual increase of 13.7%, which continues to lead other provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions).

The meeting put forward five requirements for the provincial certification and accreditation inspection and testing work in 2019: first, to strengthen learning and research, market supervision departments should fully understand the importance of certification and accreditation inspection and testing, and find a correct job orientation in light of local reality; second, to strengthen supervision and management, standardize market order, certification and testing disorders need to strengthen the supervision of the certification and testing industry urgently. Thirdly, we should strengthen the promotion of certification and promote the improvement of quality; fourthly, we should strengthen interconnection and support the construction of Dawan District, actively promote the exchange of certification, testing, technology and other resources in the Bay Area, share and mutual recognition of the results of testing and certification, and accelerate the development of professional services of testing and certification; fifthly, we should strengthen vertical cooperation and enhance the joint efforts of supervision.

Delegates attended the meeting carefully studied and discussed the conference documents, exchanged work experience and experience, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the work of certification, accreditation, inspection and testing in 2019.
